Dr Valentina Leta

Clinical Research Fellow

Dr. Valentina Leta is a Clinical Research Fellow to Professor Chaudhuri at King’s College London and the National Parkinson Foundation International Centre of Excellence, King’s College, London. She is interested in both motor and non-motor aspects of movement disorders, with a focus on autonomic dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease. Her previous research was focused on biomarkers in movement disorders including the role of skin biopsy in the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.

She successfully graduated in Medicine at the University of Bologna (Italy) in 2013 with an awarded thesis entitled ‘Skin nerve α-synuclein deposits: a biomarker for idiopathic Parkinson disease’. She started her training as a Neurologist at the University of Milan (Italy) and she is currently completing it at King’s College. She is planning to do a PhD under the supervision of Professor Chaudhuri. Valentina is also a member of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (IPMDS) and one of the coordinators of the IPMDS Non-motor study group.
