Karolina Popławska-Domaszewicz

Karolina Popławska-Domaszewicz (PhD, MD) graduated from the Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poznań. Since 2010 she has been working in the Department of Neurology with the Stroke Subunit of the University Clinical Hospital in Poznań. In 2017, she defended her doctoral dissertation “Immune response against neural antigens and paraneoplastic neurological syndromes in endometrial cancer patients”.

She completed basic training in electromyographic and neurographic procedures and a course in evoked potentials.

A special area of her clinical interest is the comprehensive and modern treatment of Parkinson’s disease with the use of infusion therapies and the method of deep brain stimulation (DBS). She is involved in evaluating patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease for invasive therapies (deep brain stimulation/infusions therapies). She monitors patients during DBS surgery and subsequently programs and follows up with them in the outpatient clinic. Additionally, she specializes in treating focal dystonias using botulinum toxin. Member of the Polish Neurological Society and Movement Disorder Society.
