We thank Mylius et al. for showing interest in our work and for providing an interesting discussion on mechanistically stratifying Parkinson’s disease (PD)-related pain using the recently developed PD-Pain Classification System (PD-PCS). Here, we further address the role of dopamine as well as the move towards mechanism-based treatment for pain in individuals with PD.
